Welcome Easton

Baby Easton is welcomed into the Laney family that hasn’t stopped hugging and kissing him since he arrived! His big sisters likely don’t remember their portrait time that marked their arrival, but they sure had fun at Easton’s and at least Madison’s at an age where she’ll remember it!  The above portrait formed the triangle of perfection in interaction between the siblings, tender curiosity, simple joy and absolute contentment.  As perfect as this moment is, I equally love the dynamic that’s revealed by the next.  Not being the baby anymore, even for someone as independent and adventurous as Aubrey, will still take a bit of adjusting.  Madison’s proud smile reminds us that she was once dethroned as the baby and now has happily moved into the leader and cheerleader role for her baby sister and brother.  The quandary of parenting is figuring out how to best help our children transition from one bit stage of life to the next.

Joe and Shannon are doing this with each other’s help along the way and a whole lot of laughter!

Oh baby boy, to be loved like this…what a blessing!

The Laneys have been coming since Madison was born and it’s been an honor to mark this celebratory time in their lives.  When the Laneys are in the house there is guaranteed to be a lot of laughter and a lot of costume play that’s typically reserved for the JDP seniors and jr.s.  Madison especially loved trying on the wigs, masks and dresses and then walking around imitating poses she saw in portraits on display.  Future JDP jr. & senior right there! 😉

Mom and dad make a great team in this parenting adventure.  They call out the best in their kids and know how to celebrate and laugh at the moments that they know are making memories for their family.

Oh what joy to close out our blog with in these final few…does anything say motherhood like this next portrait?  Shannon, it’s clear your hands are full…and will be very full for quite some time ahead; however your heart is spilling over as well in it’s fullness of love that is growing a beautiful family! Rest dear one for the road ahead is one day at a time!  And your album will tell the story of new beginnings, from Madison to Easton, that were rejoiced over every single time!  I can’t wait to get it into your hands!
