Mindy’s doctor warned her that when baby Landon was ready to be born it was likely to be a fast labor based on her family history.   Visions of road side delivery must have been swirling in her head!  Well, thankfully they did make it to the hospital, but I’m not convinced they will when it’s time for their second!  Don’t forget to thank your mom for this Mindy— it’s wonderful when genes pass along easy labors!

I actually taught Mindy US History and Psychology class years ago when I taught at Liberty High School.  Mindy contacted me after she saw my maternity photos hanging at Dr. Ballas’s office in Westminster and Eldersburg.   I remembered her right away for the curiosity and spunk she brought to my classroom.  I blogged Mindy’s maternity session several weeks ago.  You might remember her gorgeous photos out in the grain field.

Landon just cooed right along with Dad as they snuggled, melting mom’s heart.  Mindy’s doctor told her, “this is a really beautiful baby and trust me I see a lot of babies!  I could just take this one home with me!”  Mindy said, ‘oh great, what are you telling me I gotta worry about people tring to steal my baby!?”

So Dad’s not wild about the hats, but mom sure is!  She brought a collection with her to the session! I kept thinking ‘sock monkey, that funky monkey, sock monkey.’  There’s such a small window of time to be able to put these adorable things on little boys—you gotta take advantage of the time!

It was cool to see Dad was eager to step into Landon’s feeding and changing routine.   Mom really wanted a photo of Dad holding Landon so his profile showed the creases on his face…this melts her for her man!

It was such a treat to see Mom and Dad just swooning over baby Landon.  It’s obvious how much this little boy is loved.  Dad is a natural with Landon and although his older son is a teenager, he fell right back into the groove of caring for an infant like it was yesterday.  Big brother is eager to kick a soccer ball with his new little brother–it won’t be long!

Mom and Dad are working on being a united front in this parenting adventure, reminding themselves that a closely knit mother and father is the best gift they can ever give to Landon.

Dad’s eager to take Landon on the greens!

Best wishes Dumonchelle’s and may you always remember the preciousness of this time!
