brody

Almost a year has passed since I began laying the foundation for the birth of C A P T U R E D.  Building my portfolio and then a website to house my business consumed an enormous amount of hours, but it was exciting to see it all begin to come together.  A few of my brave friends who were expecting at the time jumped into this dream of mine and beautifully filled the pages of my maternity and newborn portfolio.

Now, almost a year later (yikes!) and my business is fully established and building a wide variety of clientele.  I’m beating the horrible odds stacked against the start of small businesses today—thank You Lord!   What’s really cool is I’m beginning to see those babies from my first newborn sessions as they are approaching their first year for their next portraits!   Next month little Ms. Ashlynn is coming up for her first birthday!  Time stops for no man and oh boy am I feeling that lately!

Brody Hunsicker is the epitome of the Gerber baby here at 7 months!  You may remember him from his beautiful ballerina momma’s maternity session—she was up on point at 9 months pregnant!  You go girl!   Those baby blues are going to get him a McDreamy nick name some day!

I’ve known Brody’s momma, Nicole, since I was her History and Psychology teacher back at Liberty High School many years ago!   Nicole has always stood out as someone who makes a shining mark on life wherever she goes.

It’s Nicole’s desire to raise little boys who grow into godly young men.   She knows this won’t happen by accident, but by deliberate steps of discipling them.  She’s fully vesting in this charge that lies before her and her boys will be blessed for that.

Brody and Carson are little buddies.   Carson joined Brody’s photo shoot for a few minutes and then was off to explore my yard while playing with my “big” boys!   His curiosity for life is almost tangible and I’m reminded of why God tells us to become like little children when we come to Him!

When Brody was upset, big brother Carson was quick to come to help comfort him.  Mom says there are times when Carson is the only one who Brody will settle for!  That’s the love of brothers!

where that started…

Sometimes it’s the smallest things that make the biggest impact in life.   I can’t tell you how many times Brody buried his head into his Momma, usually preceded by a shy smile.  Oh that boy loves his momma!  This is the kind of moment that I wish every mother could have C A P T U R E D with her children!

These little boys are blessed to have a mom who pours herself into their little lives.  She’s working daily to help develop their ability to see God in daily life.   Keep your eyes wide-open boys—He has amazing plans for your little lives!

as I’d paint them….
