angel

Her friends have nicknamed her Angel.  It was pretty clear to me why once our mini-portrait session started.  Courtney’s grace and beauty is clearly evident in her photographs, but what the casual observer might miss, is the inner beauty that radiated from deep within.  She brought a quiet grace to our whole session that made her a delight to photograph!

Courtney was one of the dress models at the DeMario Bridal Senior Prom dress show last week.   This session was a door prize I offered and Courtney’s mom won, then gifted to her.   Although lots of girls were eager to be the winner, they were also just as eager to cheer Courtney on when they realized she had won.

Few people are comfortable right off the bat during a portrait session, especially when the sole focus is on them!  I always spend a fair amount of time helping my clients relax, knowing full well the photos always get better and better as the session goes on.  This was not the case with Courtney.  Her photos were equally as stunning from start to finish.   This is very rare indeed!

Courtney brought some dance catalog modeling experience to her session, which helped to produce these amazing shots in our 15 minute session.   I love photographing dancers and have even devoted a section of my portfolio to them.

During her session, I talked with Courtney about how my boys and I talk about the life lesson of ‘pretty on the inside and pretty on the outside, sometimes they match and sometimes they don’t.’  You truly have both—hold tightly to that quality through this life Courtney!

Here’s how I would paint an Angel….
