awaited

Join with me in celebration to welcome the long awaited sweet little baby Collins Ansleigh to the Larson family!   Matt and Tracie knew their family was not done with their perfect little boy and girl.  Their desire for a third baby to make the Larson family complete was strong and unabated even as the years progressed.

Camden and Tessa have been anticipating this baby for quite some time too!  Camden is especially protective of his little sister, watching out for her every move and making sure she’s comfortable!   It’s good to have a big brother (and a big sister who will always be on the ready for some comic relief!!).

It is so awesome to see the fulfillment of this dream for this family!  Tracie’s tender arms have waited to hold this baby tight and ached with anticipation for this day!  And now it’s celebrating time at the Larson’s and the DiDio’s!

Collins is welcomed into a large extended family that counts her as the 16th grandchild on Tracie’s side and the 4th grandchild on Matt’s side!

Tracie’s been planning her nursery and baby fashion for Collins for months.  She had the whole nursery planned on her Pinterest board and would send me random updates through her last trimester.  I could sense the anticipation building and was almost as eager as Tracie for Collins arrival.    Fortunately, Collins was an absolute dream through her whole session so we got to put all of mom’s ideas into practice and then some!

As Tracie and I anticipated Collins’ birth I responded to one of her updates by asking,  ‘do you sometimes just stand in the nursery saying, ‘thank You Lord…I wasn’t sure I was ever going to get here and now here we are!”

Tracie’s texted response back, “every day, at least twice!”

and then there were five….

This session marks a bit of departure from my regular newborn sessions as this was my first portrait session for a niece I’ve prayed for for years.   So that also explains the extra abundance of blog images! 🙂

Of course Collins is smiling, Grandmom’s in town from Minnesota!

I was fortunate to be able to photograph Collins at the hospital.  Tracie texted when she was ready for visitors and our large family began descending on Carroll Hospital.   I will always remember holding an answer to prayer in my arms for the first time!

Collins you are welcomed with so much love and Mom just can’t get enough of your sweet little face!  She can’t help but smile when she looks at you!    You have helped to teach us that sometimes you have to walk thru the valleys to really appreciate the mountaintops!  We will sing with joy for the mountaintop you’ve taken us all to!

Snuggling with Grandy! 🙂

Lastly….Collins and I were channeling the cool lime vibe! 😉

  1. Tracie says:

Jennifer, I think I've looked at these every day since you posted. They all just make me smile!!

  2. Jennifer DiDio says:

awww, they make me smile too!! so many people have commented to me about these images and i've told them it was a pretty special session for me too! 😉 oh and you are in good company—most of my moms tell me how they go back to their blogs all the time and watch their slide shows over and over again! one mom told me she had to mute it after a while when her family was home b/c her kids would say, 'mom you are watching that AGAIN!" Love it! 😉
