Max is 1!

You may remember a little baby boy born about this time last year who had his mom’s long time pet bunny rabbit in his portraits.   Carrots hopped around my studio that day, curious and slightly skeptical.   Well that baby boy is a big one year old now!   Max is all boy–wide eyed in wonder at everything around him and on the move!

Just as she did for Max’s newborn session, Julie included sentimental
attachments into Max’s one year session.   All in the form of cherished
childhood stuffed animals, Baby Ted, Nuts, Mutt Dog & Caramel.

As with most cherished items, there’s usually a story that accompanies.  Baby Ted (small brown bear) belonged to Max’s grandad growing up.  Well, I should say he belonged to his grandad’s sister, Susie.  Max’s grandad stole Baby Ted from Suzie when they were children and refused to give him up.  He delighted in driving his sister crazy and loved pulling pranks on her.  He even once cherry bombed her toilet seat!

This typical brother sister relationship is played out in millions of homes across America everyday, usually driving parents crazy.  For every parent who may feel at their wits end and wonder if their children will ever get along, be encouraged to know these hijinks are potentially laying a foundation for life long love and care between your children.   Susie was diagnosed with MS when she was 27 and has been wheel chair bound for many years, her brother is one of her primary caregivers today.  Who knew back when he was cherry bombing the toilet seat he would one day pour out his life in love and devotion for this same sister?

Baby Ted and Max…may the memories continue to be made and your stories shared!
