Hubers

The Hubers joined me on the studio grounds to capture a bit of the beauty their life is creating.  The wildflower meadow was in full bursting beauty which was a perfect compliment for their portraits.  It’s been a wonderful surprise for clients who have had studio sessions this summer.  (a surprise even for me because I thought the torrential spring rain storms had washed away all the seeds.)

Cooper and Arianna were such a joy to photograph.  They were excited by all that surrounded them and eager to explore the grounds to see each step in the portrait process unfold.  Arianna traipses after Cooper in true little sister fashion and is quick to pull him into every delightful thing she finds so he can share in the wonder with her.  She idolizes her big brother as you can clearly see from their portraits.  These two did such a wonderful job they got to hunt for tiny toads and eat mulberries from the trees when we were done. 

The Hubers are blessed with two children who remind them that families are often tender blends that include the children you carry for 9 months and those whose birth entwines with your story through adoption.  Both have equally stolen your heart and forever changed it, making it vulnerable in ways you can never fully wrap your brain around until becoming a parent. 

Heidi and Dave knew their hearts were bent towards adoption and can not imagine life any other way.  “A hundred years from now, it will not matter what my bank account was, the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove, but the world may be different because I was important in the life of a child.” ~Forest E. Witcraft.

When it was time for Heidi and Dave to snuggle in and get close for a romantic portrait, I happened to turn to see the kids crouched under a tree spying on them.  Their utter delight at seeing this between their parents is a reminder to us all how important it is for our children to see this kind of open affection and tenderness between parents. 

Arianna has the gentlest soul and sweetest little sing-song voice.  She was eager to spin in her tutu and dance about the wildflowers in a way that every little girl should be able to do at least once in her life….
