JDP senior Corey

Corey’s eyes are set to her future that awaits her post graduation.  She’s a senior at the Mill and splits her time between classes at school and training at the career tech center in their cosmetology program.

However, Corey doesn’t plan to work in a salon to utilize her cosmetology skills.  Instead she’s gathering as much training as she can to prepare herself for what she’d love to do–be a key contributor on set to film productions.

She’s very active in the drama club at the Mill and is responsible for sound and light production for their plays.  She hopes to major in lighting design at possibly DePaul in Chicago which is one of the few schools that offers that major.  It’s pretty incredible the skill set that Corey will bring to a small budget film production that has real potential to make her indispensable–hair, make up, lighting, set design.

When Corey broke out her ukulele I laughed…6 years I’ve had my studio and not one ukulele until that week in which 2 were brought!   Apparently it’s the new trend that took me by surprise!  Corey’s been playing guitar for 10 years, since she was 7!!  How cool that she’s stuck with it all these years and now can play to her heart’s delight!  Corey’s mom and dad have been a huge musical influence on her.  She can thank dad for her love of AC/DC.

Lastly, we ended Corey’s portrait time by pulling in one of our JDP senior models Abby to set a scene for Corey to simulate her in film production.  And with a multi-talented artist like Corey, we close with a levitation piece to bend your mind a bit!  Best wishes as you make the world a more beautiful place Corey with your talents and your smile that lights up the room!
