Onheisers

Portraits should be a display of who we are…what has captured our hearts…they should reveal what makes us tick…what makes us melt to pieces.  Well, this gallery speaks of the great love in the Onheiser family.

I taught both Joe and Jess in my first career teaching high school.  That seems like eons ago and is a treasured time in my past.  When Jess came for a pre-consult it was a wonderful surprise to see a former student forging her way so beautifully in life.  Joe had purchased the session as a gift for Jess saying, “we’ve done family pictures before and it hasn’t gone well…we are ready to do it right.”

That was very sweet to hear and a continual affirmation that our excellence from A-Z for every client is valued in the community.  Even more awesome was to watch Joe and Jess with their boys.  They are devoted and loving parents who love the Lord and each other with fierce devotion.  This mantle of love is a blessing Zeke and Titus will forever be blessed by.  It will affect generations to come for the Kingdom of God in ways they have yet to fathom.

Zeke and Titus had a blast during our time together.  They are little boys so running, jumping, splashing, laughing, and hugging and kissing their momma was as easy as pie.

These two little guys got to sit in our bamboo forest to read books together and then I decided to bring in a little surprise for them…something tells me there may be some serious debating about who gets this print in their bedroom!

Lastly, we have this little captured moment portrait that I’ve crafted into a painterly piece…this one made me tear up even before I started creating with it in post production.  Why?  Well, here’s the backstory.

I have this same image of my sons walking with their dad when we had only lived here a few months.  That was about 3 years ago.  They were all considerably smaller than their dad, not as young as Zeke and Titus, but there was a marked distinction between father/sons as they walked the lot planning trails.  It wasn’t a magical moment at the time, it was just one of the 1001 deposits a good dad makes into his sons lives to help shape them into the men he’d like to see them become.

Today, that distinction of size is virtually gone.  My boys hover very close to their dad’s height or have surpassed him.  This moment for my family is gone…and my boys won’t be getting any smaller.  I say it all the time, the days may drag but the years will always fly by.

Jess is my Neice, unfortunately from a former marriage. She is also my Godchild. Jess remains always deep in my heart. These are THE most beautiful pictures and your words even more beautiful. I live in California now or I’d love to have you do my near 30th wedding anniversary. Thank you again for these amazing pictures. Patty (Roguski) Kocsis
