Duncan Family

The Duncan family arrived ready and eager to create their much anticipated family portraits.  And these kids were all such a delight!  Creating portraits for a family of 7 can be an intimidating prospect because anyone from a large family knows–someone’s bound to be having a rotten day.  Not these guys though–it was apparent they all knew how much this meant to mom and they aimed to please!

Mom and dad laughed easily together throughout their session time.  I always warn families, it’s going to feel very stressful going into the portrait time.  However, families tell me time and time again that the stress melts away after they arrive and we begin creating.

Part of the key is transitioning quickly between set ups that engage children along the way.  They don’t have much of a chance to be bored because their anticipating what the next step is going to be.  May be some time on the trampoline…in a bamboo forest…in a tee pee…jumping in the pool…closing with snowballs.  My personal goal is to make family portrait time full of great memories for kids so they happily continue this cherished tradition for their own families.

Such a delight to work with you Duncans–may your year ahead be filled with tremendous amounts of joy, laughter, touchdowns and twirly spins!
