JDP senior Ryan is preparing to officially start his senior year on the football fields of FSK this week. This will be his 4th and final year to suit up in the pads. He has persevered through the highs and lows of some challenging seasons. He’s a kid who finishes what he starts and gives everything he’s got in the process.
Ryan is farm boy through and through. His family farm has grown the physical strength of his muscles and the strength of heart for a land that has been in his family for many generations. If you are looking for Ryan and can’t find him, chances are he’s out fishing or hunting on the farm.
His grandparents live just up the road from him on the family farm. It was his Pap who agreed to let Ryan include his beloved Ford Fairlane muscle car in the portrait creation. Ryan was very careful to return the car as soon as the rain started…and his Pap said, ‘well maybe we should have left the car out so it would keep raining.” That’s the farmer way.
Ryan’s been in 4-H his whole life and is grateful that he can stay in longer than most of his friends, because of when his birthday falls. He, like just about every kid you’ll ever talk to about their years in 4-H, treasures the memories, the friendships and the lessons he’s learned from his time. In fact, he came right from the Fair for his View & Choose…then was headed back out with friends from the Fair when we were done.
We invited Ryan into our JDP senior model program and it’s been a pleasure getting to know him. I call him S Squared for “Strong and Silent”…that’s his way and if anyone would have told him it wouldn’t be sooo horrible to have portraits created a year ago, he wouldn’t have believed them. But, when those portraits capture what he loves most in this life…fishing, hunting, farm life, his dog, fast cars and football…how can you go wrong!?!
A peek at how Ryan’s portraits will be enjoyed in their home…album spread & walls…
