Huck 18.0

It doesn’t get much sweeter than this collection of Huck celebrating 18 months of his precious little life.  Every mom of little boys knows that exploring is top on their list, sitting still, not so much.  Which is why we have all kinds of special tricks up our sleeves to keep our little boys smiling and curious throughout their portrait time.  Interested in your own custom portraits?  Click here to contact us.

The icing on top of our tricks, is when you have a Momma and Daddy who love you to the moon and back, everyone’s on deck to make sure amazingness is locked down for all the days of their lives.  I love tagging into passions of the family to create portraits that are powerful on several levels.  Billy and Tamara are enthusiastic and competitive fishermen; thus the inspiration for the first portrait in this blog.  The sail fish is actually mounted in their home.

I believe it’s important to encourage play and laughter during portrait time so children grow up loving the traditions that melt their mothers hearts.  Huck was happy to play along and I just kept thinking, it doesn’t matter the age–when you tag into what people love in life–that’s where incredible portraits are born.

Dad was so patient with Huck as we tried to coach him into a lighting set up that would be compelling for Huck’s little belly-jean clad self.  He just kept tapping the box and encouraging his boy to come check it out.  Even as he was reticent, I could see the beauty unfolding that makes my heart skip for joy during the creative process.

Lastly we closed with a gorgeous Momma and son portrait of a more stylized nature that I am loving!  If you’d like to have custom childhood portraits created, click here to contact us!
