JDP senior ballerina Abbey

Blog followers are very familiar with phenomenal dancer JDP senior Abbey.  She was featured in several blogs on our old Unveil your Cinderella site which we merged last year to reduce confusion for clients.  This meant we had to let go of the Cinderella blogs (insert tears).  Randomly we’ve been moving over some of the blogs and we knew Abbey’s blogs just had to be migrated over for everyone to continue to enjoy!   We’ve combined all her featured blogs into one uber-blog.  Represented here are Abbey’s JDP senior portrait time and several JDP senior model bonus shoots she was a part of.   Now Abbey is findable on our site again!

Abbey has been dancing her whole life with her big sister Lindsey who was also one of our JDP seniors.  As little girls, they chased down the mailman and whoever passed by for an audience for their performances.

Uncannily enough Abbey was very late to come to serious ballet training though.  She realized in highschool that she loved ballet and began to devote more time to the discipline required to excel in it.  Quickly her teachers noticed Abbey had a gift and encouraged her to attend The Rock School of Ballet to complete her high school years.

Abbey was able to devote 6-8 hours a day in the dance studio to get up to speed with other serious dancers who had been pursuing serious dance training for far more years.  She actually attended The Rock an additional year so she could further her training.  She also attended the prestigious ABT (American Ballet Theater) in New York where she had the best/worst several weeks of her life being trained by Russian instructors.

They could see Abbey’s gift as well and wanted to bring it along to where she would have been had she been in serious ballet training for years.  That was a monumental task for Abbey to try and advance the dial on her training; however her discipline, resiliency, faith and gentle spirit is proving to be the perfect combination to do just that!

Today Abbey is an intern with Joffrey Ballet School in Chicago and hopes to pursue her career in dance as a full time ballerina very soon!  We wish you all the best dear one!  You’ve worked harder than anyone I’ve ever seen and may you spread your wings and always fly high!
