JDP senior Elizabeth

JDP senior Elizabeth has actually already begun her college experience at Franciscan University in Ohio.  She was home-schooled for high school after attending Montessori school and St. Johns during her younger years.  She told her parents that she had no desire to attend prom or any other traditional senior year markings…except one.  That was to have portraits created.  So hers were created a little later than traditional sessions often happen.

Blog followers know how thrilled I was to meet a dancer who wanted to mark her love of dance in her senior portraits.  Mom was excited that we could help design her wall spaces to fill them with Elizabeth as she spread her wings to fly far from home.

Elizabeth has been in pointe shoes for 9 years and is just in love with the art of dance which captured her imagination since she was 3 years old.  The grace and fluidity of movement has captured her soul in ways she finds hard to describe.  But this is why it was so important to her to have it captured for all her days in portraits.

Elizabeth is one of those old souls in a young body.  She exudes a graciousness and kindness that is rare and genuine to the core.  She is very involved with her youth group at St. John’s and actually hopes to make youth ministry into a career when she graduates.  She wants to give back to the program that poured so much into her formative years.  What a blessing she will be to those kids she serves!   I’m quite sure she will be the answer to many prayers of parents hoping for godly role models who will pour into their kids lives.

Elizabeth’s mom Peggy is desperately missing her girl.  However, she’s proud to know that Elizabeth is getting straight A’s in college; an affirmation that her home school leadership was spot on.  Elizabeth jokes that she could have probably read half the books she did and still been totally prepared for college!  Peggy cannot wait to have this beauty on display in her home to make the 5 hours that separates her from Elizabeth seem not quite so far away.

It’s always so wonderful to hear that JDP seniors are thriving in college and soaring to great heights in their achievements.  Not too bad either to hear that hey have found love that is honoring and esteeming!  Bonus!  I wish you all the best Elizabeth and can’t wait to hear what your next steps hold!
