It was October when JDP senior Julia came to have her senior portraits created. That didn’t prevent her from wanting to walk in our pond! Julia is a self proclaimed tree hugging lover of nature and is most at home in nature. She scoured the pond for frogs and was intrigued by every element of aquatic life we came upon. The water was freezing and she yet was undeterred! I even had to stop her from going in too deep to avoid looking like a floating head in portrait! Julia was in a car accident a few weeks after her portraits and we are so grateful she’s on the road to recovery, although still suffering from effects of the concussion she incurred hitting a tree head on. Her boyfriend joked that now her car was a tree hugger like her! Jarring for her mom and dad as they stand in disbelief that their oldest baby will soon be flying the nest! Meanwhile they stand on the cusp of hopefully growing their family by one more baby!
Julia’s a part of a military family and this has gave her the opportunity to live in Germany for 3 years. She traveled as often as she could and put the soil of England, Poland, Spain, France, Greece, Czech Republic, Amsterdam, Italy and Africa in her soul during that time. She also had the opportunity to serve as a model UN ambassador in an internship in Belgium for the summer.
Any time spent with Julia and it’s clear this world travel has shaped her into the awesome young woman she is. She has a more global view of the world than even most adults, which is a rare and beautiful trait about her. She’s a wondering soul that finds beauty wherever she goes. She and her mom love searching out flea markets for interesting treasures. Julia is especially drawn to old photographs…she collects them and wonders about the story each could tell. She is enamored by the idea of being transported into their story.
Julia’s a one of a kind for sure! Although she’s a late addition, we’ve invited her into our JDP senior model program for the last leg and have an awesome idea waiting for her that she’s game for!! I knew she was the perfect brave soul for this upcoming shoot!
