Meet JDP senior Abigail. She’s a gentle soul with a kind heart who exudes maturity well beyond her years. She attends Maryvale where she carries a heavy academic load while competing on the swim team. She’s been swimming competitively for 7 years. She’s at home in the water and has even stepped into the role coaching a swim team, alongside her job life guarding. Abbé loves that swimming allows her to push herself towards personal goals, yet she also gets to enjoy the team camaraderie. Click here to discuss the potential of your own senior portraits.
Abbé’s hoping to help continue the inspiration with the younger swimmers and teaches at The Fallston Swim Club. She knows first hand the benefits of the discipline that swimming has built into her life and enjoys passing that onto younger swimmers.

When I met Abbé at her pre-consult I was impressed by her thoughtful response to our discussion. She was in love with the fine art feel to many of the senior portraits I shared with her (my favorite to create as well!). I saw the hopeful anticipation in her eyes that I would be able to do the same for her. There was never a doubt in my mind!
I’m in my creative sweet spot when a client trusts me to do what I do best and it was clear that Abbé wanted exactly that! When she and her mom came back to make their selections her mom echoed a sentiment that is so encouraging every time I hear it, “I wish I had known you when she was little for you to have created for her then as well!” Humbling and so rewarding to know the vision I have for my clients is something that becomes so precious to them.
We ventured outside a bit as well, fighting the heat and humidity that is MD in the summer. Miraculously, Abbé’s curls held up, but we knew we were just minutes away from going underwater, so we weren’t too concerned!
Creating portraits underwater is full of host of challenges. We talk about them prior to deciding if it’s a match for any interested client. Given Abbé’s love of the water, I figured she’d be a natural underwater and she absolutely was!
The piece below makes all the challenges of underwater absolutely worth it! Can’t wait to see how you make your mark in this world Abbé–the world awaits your touch! 😉 Click here to chat about your own custom senior portrait experience.
