Katelyn is a softball player, through and through! She grew up watching her former JDP senior brothers Hunter and Nathan on the baseball fields and quickly followed in their paths, blazing her own trail of ferocity and determination.

Katelyn’s at softball practice 3x a week and her weekly goal is to be in the gym working out 6 days a week! She works with a trainer who is helping to develop her skills to the next level with her eye on college play.
She currently plays for the Freedom Firebirds travel team, 15u. She also plays at Westminster High and is eagerly anticipating upcoming tryouts in March. She started playing softball when she was just 8 years old and has never looked back. Just about 2 years in she stepped into the role of catcher and has been there ever since killing it. 
Katelyn has recently registered with NSR, National Scouting Report. It’s the next phase for this exciting journey she’s on. Pretty cool for her to see the coaches who have begun to check her out and follow her development as a player. She’s also a member of NAIA, National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics and NCAA. These organizations provide members the tools and opportunities to support their institutional strategic priorities and are dedicated to providing a pathway to opportunity for college athletes.

Katelyn has a field nickname of “The Butcher”. Her mom cringes when she hears it, but you know you are going up against a warrior when you hear that! Katelyn has a look of fierce determination when she’s playing and she’s all in.
If you only know Katelyn on the fields, then you might miss seeing her magnetic smile and hilarious sense of humor. She brings the complete package to everything she sets her hands to in life and will likely crack you up as she does.
