If Jess has stepped into your life, it’s a safe bet to say you adore her. She’s one of those women who steps in and offers you grace, a smile and helping hand. She’s a Physicians Assistant and a partner in ministry to her husband Ryan. Ryan is a much loved pastor who fills many roles at their beloved little church, with Jess by his side.
Jess works at our local hospital and when she learned the pleasant surprise that she and Ryan were expecting another child, she decided to bid on an auction donation we made to help support Dove House. She was hoping to have maternity portraits to mark this last time she’ll be pregnant. She loves being pregnant and marvels at how our bodies can create and grow a life. I’m not sure how she does it, but pregnancy certainly hasn’t slowed her down. Before she came for her portrait time she was on the treadmill!
Jess and her family have recently returned from a giant out West trip traveling and hiking through our iconic state parks, marveling at the majesty and grandness of God’s creation. I was a little skeptical when she told me she was planning this trip 7 months pregnant, but little did I know Jess would be hiking on trails that women her age who aren’t pregnant wouldn’t attempt! She is a rock star!
Ryan joined us for part of Jess’s portraits and marveled at the beauty of his bride who is his partner in all the ways that make their marriage precious.
I was excited to create for Jess in studio as Jess is also a photographer. Portraits are precious to her and she works tirelessly to help lock down precious legacies for her clients. She most enjoys creating for her clients outdoors so she was excited for some studio time as well. It’s always an honor when a fellow photographer reaches out to have me create for them.
Jess had an absolute blast and it was wonderful to see her grinning ear to ear through her portrait experience. She said it was a treasure for her and the icing on the cake was that her girlfriends collected money to contribute to her being able to select what she was hoping to at ordering time. How wonderful that the woman who gives so much of herself and works so hard to lock down other people’s treasured times in life had someone gift that to her!
Jess, may the Lord bless you and keep you and make His face to shine upon you all the days of your life! This baby is certainly blessed to be born into your and Ryan’s home full of love, laughter and grace!
