JDP senior Zach

JDP senior Zach gets the award for furthest traveled for this season of JDP senior sessions–all the way from Austin, Texas.  Zach is the cousin of beautiful JDP senior Abigail who we created for two years ago.  When Zach’s mom Sylvia heard about Abigail’s experience and saw her portraits she began her search for someone to do the same for her beloved Zachary in TX.

Sylvia came up dry in TX and made the decision to travel to us to create for her in ways that warm her heart and engage Zach’s interests.  I’ve heard from many of my clients it’s hard to find people to customize for young men in portrait.  Guess it’s a good thing I had 3 sons–I’ve been in training for 20 years now!

We’ve all heard the TX adage, “go big or go home”, well that’s just what the Kisners did.  They loaded up the family, the wardrobe and hobby interests for Zach for a flight to MD and even shipped his paintball gear to family in MD which they picked up prior to the session.  The flight was fine but the rental car was a fiasco that had them waiting around for over an hour at almost midnight!  This family perseveres!

I always say we have the most wonderful clients who are so appreciative of all we pour into them.  They fall in love with our commitment to excellence from A-Z and become our biggest cheerleaders to their network.  When we take on a senior we know it’s a big commitment A-Z, but that’s how we roll and we wouldn’t have it any other way!  Our clients joke that we are the Disney World of portrait services!  I am compelled to squeeze every ounce of awesome in every single session!

Zach plays soccer for his high school and has been loving the game since he started at 4 years old.  The team camaraderie keeps him coming back season after season.  Since it’s the number one sport around the world, the community it’s built for him has been invaluable.

Zach also plays on a club team since 6th grade and has formed invaluable friendships there as well.

When Zach’s not studying or on the fields, you’ll find him watching Hell’s Kitchen and then cooking up his own creations.  His mom and dad love seeing what he creates and the eating is pretty awesome too!  The Kisners even brought a little bit of Texas with them as a gift–Salt Lick salsa which was delicious!

Zach is a member of National Honor Society and Spanish Honor Society as well.  He’s been a part of construction crews for Habitat for Humanity and understands the value in giving back to help others in need.

Zach also has a job at a watch shop and it’s piqued his interest in watches.  He’s begun a watch collection and is especially fond of vintage watches.  He’s got a smile that lights up the room and melts his momma’s heart.

Kudos to his mom and dad for getting all Zach’s paintball gear to MD for his session!  When it’s his brother’s turn in a few years, I let them know they are welcome to ship gear right to my studio.  No easy task trying to pull together all that was needed to bring mom’s visions to life, but Sylvia and Tim rocked this like a champ!

I told Zach to run and slide in as close as possible to my lens…I always tell the athletes that.  He did just that and this may be the closest we’ve ever come to a piece of gear hitting the lens–no risk no reward!;)

Kisners it was such a pleasure to meet your sweet family!  So glad we were able to make this happen and the joy on your faces made all the hurdles you leaped worth it for this to happen!
