JDP senior Cam

Meet JDP senior Cameron, aka Cam. During our pre-consult planning meetings I typically address the elephant in the room early. I’d say about 75% of guys begrudgingly accompany their moms and are opposed to the whole notion of creating senior portraits. But, what I can absolutely also attest to, is that 100% of them end up loving their portraits by the time we are done!

Cam fell in the 25% who are pumped about coming to create cool portraits. Not only was he eager for what we would create, but he offered up this idea above and below! His energy and joy was contagious!

Cam started playing lacrosse in third grade and never looked back. He’s loved the game ever since. He has committed to play lacrosse at Frostburg University and couldn’t be more excited about it! Frostburg loves Carroll County players apparently as last year half their graduating class of players was from Carroll County. Cam’s love of the game and the contributions he’s made throughout his playing years have brought him to this next stage and he is ready!

Cam is a midi who may be 5’8 but he plays like he’s 6’1. He’s quick and his shot is a big part of every game he’s in. He brings the same positive energy and excitement for his buddies when they make a play, making him an energetic leader for his team.

Cam brought his 9 year old lab Jax who was just the sweetest boy! Cam loves animals and currently has 3 dogs, a leopard gecko, a rat, bird, beta fish and bearded dragon! His family even had a possum for a year they took care of because it lost its mother!

Besides his love of lacrosse, Cam is an avid outdoorsman. He is a passionate fisherman who has fished just about every waterway the top 1/2 of Maryland. Most often fishing is a passion that’s passed down through the generations; however Cam is the first lax and fisherman in his family. However, his dad has passed on his love for golf to Cam. (and his animated sense of humor as well!)

Cam aspires to work in wildlife and fisheries via the Department of Natural Resources. This will be his course of study at FSU.

I just love creating portraits for passionate people and Cam is certainly one of them! I learned about the snakehead fish from him. Apparently it’s an invasive fish from Japan that can live on land for 3 days! It slivers around like a snake and is often found in the Upper Potomac. I was shocked to learn that it tastes like crab!!

Look at the size of this catfish Cam caught!!

We aren’t afraid to get a little messy when we create!

Cam your animated joy, energy and relentless pursuit of awesomeness throughout your session made it a memorable one for all of us! I LOVE what your mom shared while we were creating, ‘Jennifer, I’ve been looking forward to this day for a very long time and had such high expectations. You have blown away anything I could have imagined! This has been an incredible day and you made Cam feel like a rock star!’ Fuels me as a creator!

I hung my portrait of the green dress in my office and everyone remarks on how stunning the picture is. Thank you for capturing the stunning, silly, happy, smiling sides of my 2025 Senior.
