They found love on the Penn State campus so it’s no wonder Mom has a special affection today for her alma mater. Dad stole Mom’s heart and then set about a task that many a man has attempted and met with failure —sharing his love of golf with his sweetheart. He triumphed and they’ve had a weekly weekend golf date for years now.
Dad knew how important these photos were to Mom and he had only request for the whole session—the inclusion of this Titlest pro series. A golf ball never looked so good!
Mom and Dad joked that a ball on the green wouldn’t have stayed put as nicely as this one did for the photos! They dream of passing on their love of golf to their son.
Naming a child is a very personal decision and often there’s a story behind a name. Jared’s name was chosen by Mom when she was just a little girl. When she was nine her family welcomed a baby brother who tragically was still born. Mom has definite remembrance of holding baby Jared with her grandmother and counting his fingers and toes. She always knew one day that if she was blessed enough to have a son, his name was already chosen.
Of course this little boy waiting to make his arrival will never replace the precious life that was lost, but he will be a reminder that Mom’s brother has never been forgotten. He is a reminder that in life there is a season to our suffering and our rejoicing. He is also the first grandchild for Grandmom and I imagine that her loving care to this child will be the kind that causes her heart to overflow regularly. Jared will be so blessed to grow up under this kind of devotion!
