Baby Andrew was joined for his newborn session by mom, dad and big brother Josh. The Lamb family is very dear to my heart and I welcomed the opportunity to be able to celebrate their newest little blessing with them.
Throughout our session I spent most of the time with my dear friend Susan and baby Andrew while Chris and Josh played in the next room. I could hear Josh giggling most of the time… that’s because Dad was playing with him. There’s just nothing like that sound!
Newborn sessions are longer than most sessions, but dad did not tire out. He came in when we needed him and then quickly rerouted to Josh. Chris says he’ll pick spending time with his 5 kids any day over a day at work. That’s a 5 star dad!
Chris is a huge Ravens fan and was a ball boy this last season for the Ravens. You may have seen him on the sidelines working hard during games. Andrew found himself right at home on this game ball!
Chris really seemed to soak in the time with Josh who is now no longer the baby of the family. Often transitions are tough on older siblings when a baby enters the scene but with two parents as devoted as Susan and Chris I think they are all going to be just fine!
Baby Andrew seemed eager to join in the fun that was happening around him because his actions seemed much older than typical newborns I’ve photographed. He was very curious and aware of his surroundings. He even picked up his head repeatedly to try and follow noises. He resisted some typical newborn poses in favor of crawling like moves instead! Something tells me this strong little guy is going to be an early walker!
Susan has nursed all her children and knowing that Andrew would be her last, she mentioned she would like a beautiful portrait of that tender time. It’s crazy how many hours of our life we spend nursing our children, but often there is no record of it from that whole first year of life! I have one photo of me nursing my twins and it is very precious to me. Susan’s won’t be included in this blog but that beautiful bond of tenderness was C A P T UR E D so sweetly in a way that will take Susan back to this fleeting time years from now. Hopefully even as an old lady her senses will be flooded with the sweet scent of a newborn when she sees the image!
Andrew, you are welcomed with joy by a Momma and Daddy who love you more than you’ll ever know! May the Lord smile upon you in the path that teaches you to know Him more and more!

These are absolutely beautiful pictures of a beautiful family! Our family has know Chris and Susan for a few years now and they are truly wonderful people and you can see just how beautiful they are and how much love they have for their children in their everyday lives, but these shots truly capture the love!!
