Wow, it’s been a little over a year since C A P T U R E D was launched I’m still swallowing hard in disbelief  at how time is flying!   My C A P T U R E D families are marking it well for me, lest I forget the fleeting nature of this life!  The babies I started with in maternity/newborn sessions are grinning ear-to-ear and squealing in delight now in their 6-month and one-year old portrait sessions! 

I looked into little Riley’s eyes, Riley Roo as she’s affectionately called by her family, and saw the delight and wonder of a little girl who bares little resemblance to the dark haired slumbering newborn I met 6 months ago! 

Instead, Riley is ready to go!  She pulls herself up on all fours in the rocking pre-crawl stance.  Her big brother Logan has been giving her tutorials on crawling posture with live demonstrations.  Mom joked, ‘he may wish he hadn’t done that once she’s on the move!’  Yes, I remember that stage clearly when my twins were on the move and life changed dramatically for their 2 year old big brother!

Riley was an absolute delight to photograph.  She was full of funny faces and baby babble the entire session. 

Aunt Megan joined the session to be a support to mom and dad during their session.  We brought Aunt Megan into a few photos with the children.  Her devotion and love of these children was clear right from the start!  What a beautiful thing to have extended family so vested in the lives of your children!

Riley, you have a very exciting next 6 months ahead of you before the big 1!  You are ready to explore all around you—just remember it’s not how many times you fall, but how many times you get back up that matters most!
