Cornblatts

One of the greatest joys of owning a boutique portrait business is the chance to spend time with really great families as I link arms with them to create cherished keepsakes.   The Cornblatts were no exception to this.  They joined me on the studio grounds for their first family portrait session ever.  Brian won this after a fierce bidding war at the HairBall auction last year.  He told me the feedback he’d heard from within the community made him tenacious in his bidding.

He actually won a Unveil your Cinderella Couture portrait session.   Grace assumed he meant to win a family session and asked if it was ok to swap the session.  I assured her that was no problem.  In the back of my brain I was wondering the whole time, ‘did her husband buy this intending to treat his beautiful bride to a day of pampering or did he buy it intending it for family portraits.’   Feedback from clients has assured me that both are invaluable, but for very different reasons.

I figured I might get an idea at our family portrait time.   Watching how Brian cared for all three of his girls through the portrait time and then at their View & Choose was a beautiful thing to behold.  But at the end of the day, based on his tender and devoted manner with Grace,  I’m pretty sure Brian won the auction intending to give his first princess a princess day.  Just my gut though…;)

At the end of our session, the girls were game to change clothes for an idea I had…soooo glad they did!!  What an ethereal timeless reminder of the blessings of the sisterhood bond and the fleetingness of childhood…

Finally…if I were Degas…here’s how I would paint you Emma & Sophia!  Enjoy the surprise girls! Art from your life! 😉
