JDP senior Ciara

JDP senior Ciara brought her grand love of dance to her senior portrait experience and I could not have been more excited!  I make it no secret that dancer portrait creation makes my heart beat faster–it is my favorite!  My greatest desire is to create timeless pieces for these young women so that they see the work of art they are.  I will have a  gallery showing of pieces like Ciara’s portrait above sometime in the future!

Ciara was a super-quick change artist–I’ve found that to be a great benefit of years of dance training!  Dancers like Ciara are wonderful at following direction–many of them have been doing it since they were 3 years old!  They understand movement in a way that their hours of practice makes second nature.

Big shout out to Ciara’s sister Leah who crafted Ciara’s first look for her!  I adored this casual bun to start our session off!  JDP seniors coming in October/November for their portrait time, after school, don’t have time to be styled and still go outdoors for portraits before dark. 

So we do the next best thing–come styled with a look for outdoor portraits first, then progress into the styling chair for Jill to work her magic on your hair and make up when we finish outdoors.  Best of both worlds!  Leah and Ciara have been dancing together their whole life, so I love that she got to be a part in helping make Ciara’s day special!

Something tells me Ciara will be a dancer her whole life.  How awesome to be able to look back at this collection from a moment in time before she launched out into the world!  Ciara, may the grace and beauty of you in dance continue to clothe you all the days of your life!  Dance on dear one!
