Princess Savannah & Sarah

When you grow up with a 5 year age difference, it’s sometimes hard to find yourself at home in your big sister’s world.  Things are moving fast and it’s hard to keep up.  So you tend to chart your own course and find it hard to relate when your friends talk about the love hate relationship they have with their own siblings.

This was the situation for Savannah and Sarah, until recently that is.  Something is changing between them.  Savannah, the self proclaimed wild child of the two, finds herself beginning a new role with her little sister.  That of mentor and protector.  Perhaps it’s that the wild in her is taming down a bit.  She currently helps to serve the needs of autistic children in her job while she is also attending college.  As both girls are young women now, they find the distance that separated them to be closing fast and a new found kinship developing.  If you’d like to create a portrait session for your daughters, feel free to contact us here.

Savannah and Sarah are beginning to see their commonalities, like a love of basketball and singing and dancing. I watched the girls giggle and laugh with each other all day while we created portrait art for the walls of their home.  Mom sensed the budding closeness between her girls and must have sensed this was something to be locked down for its beauty and preciousness.

The girls regaled me with a song/dance routine from their childhood which came back to them in a flash when they heard it on during their shoot.  Something tells me it won’t be the last time they perform that number!  May you girls enjoy the budding intimacy that only sisters can share through this life!  It will be a source of strength and blessing to you throughout your life!

If you’d love to create portrait art of your girls, we’d love to chat with you!
