JDP senior Will

It’s a very strange feeling for me to see childhood friends of my boys now before my lens as one of my JDP seniors.  These young men who tromped around soccer fields as little guys, dripping in watermelon and glow soccer games, are now preparing to launch their adult lives.  They’ve shied away from cameras most of their lives and now their moms are really feeling the absence of their recording in the family history.  Watching these young men before my lens is a blunt force reminder that time keeps marching forth, whether we are prepared or not.  Ready for your own senior portraits?  Click here to chat with us; we’d love to create for you as well.

Will has been surrounded his whole life by a family that has rallied behind him in whatever he pursued.  Mom and Dad have been his constant coach, cheerleader and mentors.  His older sisters could always be found at his early morning freezing cold soccer  games cheering him on.  Meghan even showed up at his senior portrait time with her boyfriend, just to share in the experience with him.  The girls have also never ceased cooking up crazy shenanigans around the house to wrangle Will into, literally his entire life. It doesn’t matter that Ali has lived in NY for years now, when she returns home, Will will always be her baby brother she’s got to cajole into something crazy that he may initially resist, but the whole family knows he’ll get on board with before the day is over.  Will has always been the baby of the family that everyone adores and his sisters are never short on smothering him with affection.

When you meet Will today it’s clear all that has created one pretty amazing young man who never stops moving, composing or making you feel right at home wherever you are in life.  He’s one of the most accepting people I’ve ever met and quite simply just a joy to be around.  Although he’s shied away from the camera most of his life (like just about all guys) he knew how important this was to his mom and he also knew we’d feature him doing what he loves in life, so he was on board.

For Will music and cars are his life outside of family.  He chose to come to his pre-consult in his own car, without air conditioning, on a blistering hot day, just so he could listen to his music rather than the comfort of his mom’s car.  He quite simply never stops hearing the music; it’s oxygen to him.  The first portrait featured here was a statement against the sheet music his teachers have been trying to get him to work from his whole musical life.  He plays what he feels and what his mind creates.  He plays a surf punk style in a band locally when time allows.  During his session the music playing on his phone was the most eclectic combination I’ve ever heard which intrigued us wondering what would come next as we created.

Will also comes from a long line of car lovers and it’s been something he has taken on as well.  His dad graciously allowed Will to include his mustang in the shoot.  Will loves cars so much he is at Career Tech in the auto service technician program and couldn’t be happier.  He loves everything about working on cars and even something as simple as the sound of the spinning wrench!  He currently works at a service tech and has plans to pursue this as a career.

Will, it’s always a delight to see what you are up to in life and I cannot wait to see where your love of music and cars takes you in this life!  Click here if you’d like to contact us about your own senior portraits.
