About five years ago Sharell’s friend was here for her daughter Taylor’s dance portraits. After Sharell saw them, she knew she wanted the JDP senior experience for her daughter’s senior portraits. She admitted she couldn’t remember my name, but she knew exactly how to find me years later and I’m so glad she did!

Our Beyonce inspired look for Ms. Amaya!
Amaya is not a dancer but you’d never know it from her grace in movement! Instead she’s a trained competitive swimmer. She’s been swimming since she was 8 years old and even is nicknamed Maya-mermaid!
Amaya is also a poet, mostly social justice themed work. The wheels in her mind spin rapidly. She has been a contributor to Charm, a Baltimore publication featuring Baltimore City students original art work and written word, every year of high school. 
Amaya has performed one of her poems in multiple venues and even read it for us as well. Her words are poignant accompanied by visuals that a reader can easily connect to. Baltimore comes to life in her words.

Amaya is an awesome blend of social justice advocate, hard worker and silliness. She kept us laughing throughout her session and was just an all around blast to work with. 
Her fun side takes a back seat when it’s time for her competitor to come out. This girl goes to State competitions every year and is loaded with medals, ribbons and trophies. Her favorite event is freestyle but she also competes in back stroke, breast stroke, butterfly and fly.

Amaya attends Baltimore Polytechnical Institue and has future college plans to purse psychiatry. Amaya is often in a counseling role with her friends and enjoys helping them to the best of her ability. Her mom is cheering her on to get as much education as possible under her belt. 
Amaya, your future certainly looks bright! The combo of your work ethic and ability to make everyone around you laugh and enjoy themselves is going to be a blessing wherever you go!
