Josh

First time I noticed Josh’s handle bar mustache I was intrigued.  Mustaches and beards in all shapes and sizes have seized the imagination of this generation in a way that has transported back in time while still very much in the present 2021!

Josh is a boxer/fighter but he started his combat early in life as a wrestler when he attended North Carroll High School.  He went on to wrestle at York College as well.  Post college he was intrigued by jiu jitsu and began taking lessons.  Before his first year of training was up he was in his first amateur fight in 2010. Five years later he was in his first Pro fight.

Most of Josh’s competitions have been here in Baltimore, but occasionally he competes in DC and PA as well.  And just like every athlete I know, he is eagerly anticipating the world opening back up so he can get back in the cage asap.

Josh progressed in his mixed martial arts competition from amateur to the pro level status quickly.  He gets sponsors before his fights and adds them to his banner and walkout shirt/shorts.  His main gym is CCK MMA here in Westminster, located off of Green Street.  He also works at the Westminster Recreation Center.

We stepped back in time for a vintage feel for our first portrait set, then transported very much to the present with bold statement making color.

Every single time Josh steps into the ring to compete, he is terrified.  But this drives him out of his comfort zone while simultaneously testing his abilities in the most realistic scenarios possible.  I’m quite certain this is a trait shared by most people who push themselves to excel in their craft…I’ve been creating professionally for 10 years now and still approach every single session with a sense of anticipation/expectant tension wondering where the magic is going to happen.  Every client will tell you, the session’s not over until I’ve found it.

Introducing a sense of motion in a still photograph is one of my favorite ways to lock down the coolness of motion for athletes.

Josh looks like he’s ready to step into a Marvel movie as the newest villain, which is a serious departure from this good guy’s disposition!  Such pleasure to lock down this awesomeness for you Josh!  Click here to contact us re your own custom portraits.
