JDP senior Meghan

JDP senior Meghan is a real life fairy tale come to life in this first set up. The warmth in her smile and eyes invites all around her in to be a part of her journey. She exudes a gentle calm in her demeanor that makes her a delight to be around. Click here to contact us re your own custom portraits.

Meghan initially began at Westminster High, but her junior year she left to attend John Carroll High after being recruited to play basketball. Meghan’s main love is basketball which she started at 5 years old and never looked back. After she arrived at John Carroll, she decided to try out for softball and soccer and made those teams as well. The athleticism of this girl knows no ends. She picked up softball at John Carroll for the first time since her days of slow pitch softball when she was a little girl. She hung up her softball cleats as a little girl because of the year round demands of her basketball schedule.

The memories she’s made playing the game she loves, lights up her face as she talks about them. One of her favorites is making the winning shot, in OT, in the semi finals against St. Timothy’s. Her athletic endeavors have provided great stress relief and the discipline to work towards goals she’s set for herself.

As an athlete, Meghan is a versatile and dedicated hard worker. Passion drives her determination and the competition that courses fiercel through her veins. She is a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes and loves attending Young Life when time permits. Problem is her school day is typically from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. because of the hour of travel to get back and forth to school and the demands of her sports schedule.

When Meghan’s not on the court or fields, she’s likely camping with her family, playing with her dogs or chilling at the beach watching a sunset.

Shout out to Meghan’s mom and dad who joined us at the View and Choose. Watching their tender and funny dynamic together was sweet. Meghan is a daddy’s girl and when he’s not out fighting fires, her dad is out cheering his girl on! Mom teared up throughout Meghan’s session and the View and Choose, much to the playful ribbing of Meghan and dad. Mom’s a firefighter as well, so kudos to the Ruth’s for their commitment to keep families safe! (and studio mascot Macy Mae thanks you for bringing the bag of dog biscuits Michelle!)

Meghan has been raised with a sense of love of country, honor and duty. It was important to her to include the American flag in her portrait time, giving us all hope for this next generation and what they will do to help make our beloved country a better place for us all.

Meghan is a country girl at heart and most at home outdoors in nature. And I know it looks like a lovely spring day, but it was freezing and whipping winds! Click here to contact us re your own custom portraits.

She may never again shoot in heels, but love that this memory will make her laugh and remember so much about the dedication she poured into the game she loves!

Don’t let that adorable smile fool you, she will mess you up! Field or court, you name it–she does not like losing!

Meghan is excited but also reflective about the time that’s just ended for her as an official graduate as of just days ago. She’ll be attending Alvernia University this fall to study nursing and will be playing basketball there as well.

It didn’t matter the set up, Meghan was just so stinkin’ cute in them all! We almost forgot about this bubble gum wrapper I found in her gear bag while setting up one of her scenes. I knew I wanted to create something fun for her and we remembered as she was packing up to go home!
