Menopausal symptoms are often mistreated and misdiagnosed because so little has been studied about it over the years…(don’t get me started). Today there is finally a wave of attention being given to women instead of the prevailing ‘wisdom’ that was liberally dispensed to ‘suffer in silence for who knows how many years.

Nicki is 52 fabulous years old. She’s a computer programmer who leads a team at work and brings a feminine touch to a male driven field. She’s chosen to remain unmarried and recently came across my Unveil your Cinderella portrait line. She was intrigued.

Nicki has noticed over the years that her married friends look back on their wedding day portraits to celebrate their milestone anniversaries. She seems them regularly in her social media feeds. She had the realization that she may never have wedding day portraits to mark her life and knew she wanted to do something about that.
So our objective was clear, create a gallery to celebrate her awesomeness to mark this time in her life for all the beauty of who she is.

Nicki is fierce and loves to explore life. She is a big fan Renaissance Festivals, indoor skydiving, aerial silks, rock climbing, ziplining, hang gliding, parasailing, riding in hot air balloons…if it’s an adventure you name it–she’s likely game!
This custom outfit Nicki got for the Renaissance Festival is complete for her only if Amber Drake is by her side. Amber Drake is a griffen- a mythical creature who is combination eagle and lion. She puppeteers Amber Drake much to the delight of her fellow Ren-Fair attendees. He even plays dead, falling over on her shoulder!
Nicki is also a world traveler! Coming up this year she’s planning a trip to Paris with her college roommate and a trip to India with her parents!

I love this session. The costuming is so unique and looks wonderful on Niki. She may be 52 in years but you definitely caught her spirit taking us to another time leaving the idea of how old she is gone in the wind.
