Emily is part of Project Lead the Way through her high school and her hope is to one day work in a hospital setting focussing on internal medicine and pediatrics. She loves a good puzzle and the hospital setting offers more puzzle solving to help care for patients who require acute care. She looks forward to this challenge.

Emily has had her eyes on attending University of Cincinnati’s Medical Science program for a dual program BS/MD that’s not offered at many universities. She just found out she was accepted and she and her family are celebrating! And so should her future patients who will be helped by her persistence to solve what confounds them medically.

Emily loves to get lost in a good story. Somehow around her EDP soccer program and rigorous academics, she often finds time to read a book a day! She devours young adult fiction with voracity that leads her into the next story. Science fiction, romance, fantasy–she gets lost in it all. She even read the Percy Jackson series 10x!

Emily’s passionate soul led us into a creator’s dream as we partnered together to dream about the stories we could tell via her portraits. She shared that she hoped her portraits would have a surreal nature about them and that they would lean heavily into an artistic feel.

Emily’s dedication to academic excellence has led to her being 2nd in her class with a 4.43 GPA. She is separated by the valedictorian, her BFF, by .05!! She’s hoping to sit beside her BFF on stage as the salutatorian.

Emily’s musical pursuits led her into violin first and she loves to play classical and modern fusion pieces. Watching her spritely self play I had visions of Lindsey Sterling. Emily recently added guitar to her repertoire of things to conquer in this life.

Emily pointed out inspirations that she admired during our pre-consult planning meeting. One of the pieces was a dress I designed onto another senior and we used it as inspiration for one of her own. This led me down a path of painting this piece to make a work of art for her.

Then I found I couldn’t stop at just one, but set to painting a 2nd piece for her. Emily provided inspiration after inspiration for our time together…that’s what led to the magic.

What was fascinating to me is that it was engaging athletic portraits that initially drew Emily to my portrait services. She wanted more than she’d seen locked down from her team portraits over the years.

Emily plays for Black Flames through Harrendale as a center defender/back. Her speed and excellent soccer IQ makes her an incredible utility player with a versatility that makes her a force. Lately she’s been playing striker because of her tenacity to chase down the ball. She’s in it to win it!

Emily originally started as a gymnast through her childhood, but since she gained most of her height early, it worked against her ability to grow as a gymnast. So in 6th grade she made the switch to soccer and never looked back. Emily even took up field hockey in high school at the request of her friend. She’d never played before but that didn’t stop her from embracing a new adventure! She’s also recently added competitive swimming into the mix and is shocking her coaches already!

Emily you are a jack of any trade you set your mind to! What an honor to create for your passionate soul! Your future looks sooo bright and we are cheering you on!
