JDP senior Imari

JDP senior Imari came to us a little early for her senior portraits and that’s just perfect! We are a year round custom portrait creator, grateful for several studio spaces for clients to escape the elements year round. We are always happy to venture outside, if a client desires.

For some clients that means braving the frigid temps and whipping winds. For others, they are blessed with lovely moderate temps even in the winter. I’ve heard Maryland weather be described as a menopausal cat–she’s freezing/she’s boiling, good luck predicting!

Imari brought this outfit with her and it wins for most adorable of springtime fashions for me!

Given that we book out every year, we wanted to offer our off season sessions a summer time floral feel regardless of when they came for portrait. We’ve just added this rose collection to our mix and the timing could not have been more perfect for Imari! She brought me a host of inspirations for her sessions which allowed us to create along the lines she was envisioning.

Imari’s inspirations, her mom’s dress and our new floral collection for the win!

JPD senior Imari has her eyes on the prize for her future. She has been her SGA class president the last two years. She’s slated to be the vp for the diversity club as well. She’s also been awarded the Champions of Courage award for Maryland.

Imari was so excited to see we had bamboo on our studio grounds as she’s fascinated by bamboo and frogs and toads (which we have in abundance)! She may be returning to bucket up a few toads for one of her own aquariums at home.

Imari is an artist and intends to make her career in art therapy. She hopes to study the neurology of how art can bring healing along with techniques to equip patients in handling their emotional and mental life.

Imari’s kindness, blended with her creativity, will be a blessing to her future patients! Imari’s love for art extends into painting with acrylics on canvas, abstract pieces, clay creations and playing with warm/cool combos.

Imari knows the joy and sense of absolute zen she feels when creating art and is intrigued by the prospect of making this feeling available to others in her role as an art therapist.

Imari’s dad loved her reading segment as he has always gotten so much joy out of knowing how she loves to get lost in a story. The perfect transport to worlds we will never know!

Imari’s inspirations had quite a bit of floral additions and I’m so thrilled we could offer this to her at the tail end of winter!
