JDP senior Parker

JDP senior Parker may look familiar to blog followers; his sister JDP senior Mia was here in 2018! Parker was just as much of a blast to work with as his sister!  His session took us to the theater at Francis Scott Key High.  He’s made the most amazing memories being a part of the drama club and hoped to see that captured in his portraits.  Parker is a born actor, his mannerisms, sense of timing, and ability to transform from serious drama to comedic hilarity is evident to anyone fortunate enough to do life with him.

He’s been a part of every production since his freshman year.  There are highlight memories attached to West Side Story, Seussical the Musical and one of my favorites (and Parker’s as well), The Christmas Story.  He was Scutt Farkas and Peirre Andre the radio announcer in The Christmas Story.  We regularly quote that show around here!

Parker’s been a contributor on all fronts of the drama scene–set building, assisting with lighting, acting.  He built the sets of doors you see below, Rapunzel’s tower and the two story house for Christmas Story.

There have always been two major pulls for Parker when it comes to his involvement in drama:  the people and the rush of going on stage.  The butterflies in the stomach feeling never gets old for Parker.  He’s heard if that ever goes away, it’s time to quit acting. That feeling fuels the greatest performances in history!

The atmosphere in the drama club allows each kid to be themselves.  In Parker’s words, “uniqueness is honored, not hidden.”  Parker attributes a great deal of this to the incredible leadership of Roberta Gore.  Kids are there to support one another and that’s where kids thrive.  He’s sad to know this chapter of his life is closing but excited for the opportunities that lie ahead.

Parker hopes to continue in the drama world after graduation (and after this spring’s show Wizard of Oz) with local productions–any producer would be fortunate to have him!  He doesn’t shy away from hard work and his caring for people is an asset everywhere he goes in life!  He plans to attend Towson University to study computer science cyber security with an acting minor.

Parker has a jump start on his career in cyber security via the Career Tech program.  He is already a Cisco certified networking administrator!  Such a unique blend of giftedness!  It’s not often that a techy guy can be so strong in the arts as well!

Parker’s been snowboarding since he was 8 and loves the time outdoors…I still remember Mia walking barefoot in the snow for her session…these two love their cold weather!  Parker–it was such a blast to create with you and for you!  I cannot wait to see what this next phase of life holds for you–looks so bright and you are a blessing to sooo many!
