JDP senior Jackson

Blog followers may feel like they recognize JDP senior Jackson. That’s because he looks a whole lot like his brother, former JDP senior Ethan who was here a few years ago. Their sister is JDP senior Lily and there’s still one more from their gang coming in a few years. One of the best parts of this job is connecting with awesome families like the Millette/Berry family over the years to celebrate their milestones.

Jackson attends Marriotts Ridge High where he fills the position of QB for the football team. He’s been a football enthusiast his whole life and started in tackle football his freshman year after playing basketball and baseball his whole life. He began in the position of wide receiver and cornerback and then progressed into the role of QB his junior year.

Jackson just so happened to be here when we were puppy sitting and couldn’t get enough of little Nigella! She was a pretty big fan of him as well!

Jackson’s interest are wide and his curiosity leads him into pursuits that are often unexpected. In recent years he’s gotten into video production and editing. Mostly he creates videos for Youtube with his friends, bringing out full force his Australian accent for interesting affect!

We are year round JDP senior session creators. When the client is interested in going outside, we’ll do just that for them year round. We can’t control the temperature or the wind, but Jackson was a trooper!

Something tells me Jackson’s penchant for adventure makes additions into his movie making! He’s always up for an outdoor adventure whether it’s tubing down a rive, cliff jumping, hiking–he’s game!

Jackson’s been a customer since he was a little boy at a sports memorabilia store called Dug Out. Dug Out has helped to feed his passion to collect sports cards, always promising something new to add to his collections with his ritual weekly visits.

Jackson must have made an impression on the owners over all those years because he works there today around his school and sports schedule. Spending any time with Jackson it’s easy to see he’d be a natural at this! He’s got such an easy demeanor and is a joy to spend time with.

Jackson’s played basketball since he was 5 years old and been a Celtics fan just about as long. Celtics and Steelers are his ride or die teams.

Jackson’s recently got intrigued by boxing. He and a friend are working to get this into his schools as an extracurricular activity. The school is hesitant, but Jackson will not be deterred. They are working on organizing matches. He and a friend, who happens to be roughly 2x his size, were making plans for their first boxing match…but the powers that be have shut that down. 😉

Jackson was originally supposed to come for his portraits in September; however a devastating football injury laid him up and forced a reschedule. Jackson was under center, the ball was snapped and then fumbled. He fell on the ball and when he was tackled the other player rolled him over, but his leg did not come with him as he rolled.

Every football mom’s worst nightmare seeing her son laying on the field not moving! He left the field on a stretcher and was taken to the hospital via an ambulance. Jackson suffered a posterior hip dislocation. Photo below is not Jackson, but a visual of what this injury looks like:

Fortunately his doctor was able to pop his hip back into the socket without doing any surgery. This was possible because, shockingly, he did not have any breaks or ligament damage. What followed the injury was 5 months of PT that started one week after the injury. When he started PT he could not walk and yet today now he’s able to run again!

Jackson, we are cheering you and your grand love of sports on! We wish you all the best as you decide between Vermont, Michigan State and University of South Carolina! Any of those schools would be fortunate to add you to their class of 2028!
