Blog followers may recognize this beauty from a few years ago when her mom celebrated her turning 13 with portraits. For Janice, making birthday memories is a big deal for her kids. 13 was big and so is 16 and she knew just the place to celebrate her sweet girl!

It was the coolest thing seeing this sweet girl as she’s grown into a young woman, but I still saw so many of the adorable mannerisms that I remembered from our last time creating together.
Emily laughs easily and it brought such joy to her mom’s heart to see this preserved in a way that she loves as well.

Emily’s a strong student and an athlete at her highschool. She’s successfully navigating both those worlds with finesse. But carrying a heavy academic load is a lot, feels like the work is never really done. So we captured the spirit of that determination, frustration and workload.

Aside from her love of volleyball and golf, Emily is also an avid photographer. Her mom printed out some of her favorite pieces to showcase in one of her portraits. We added the ladder as an homage to one of the world’s most famous photographers, Annie Liebowicz.
