JDP senior Noah

What a joy for me to partner with families over the years to lock down their greatest joys. Blog followers may recognize Noah as he’s appeared in Gleaton family portraits in the past. I met the Gleatons years ago and have been covering all the milestones for their big beautiful family ever since.

Noah’s older brother and sister, Adam and Aliyah have been in for their senior portraits and he was ready for his turn! Teresa couldn’t have been more thrilled with what we created. She couldn’t get over how much her Noah looked like a rock star!

Teresa’s currently making plans for her family’s next round of family portraits. It’ll be awhile before we have a JDP senior again, as her 6 children were born in two waves and Noah’s the youngest of the older crew.

JDP senior Noah has grown out his hair simultaneously while his height and passion for music soared as well. Creating music has taken root in Noah’s soul as he eats and sleeps and breathes his passion for guitar. He’ll be continuing his education this fall in college to further study music. Where–that’s still up in the air, but it won’t be longer than a 3 hour trip home to be embraced by his family.

Noah has grown up playing a lot of sports and still really enjoys basketball a great deal, but it’s a hard competition for him when he could be playing or writing music.

This small web file won’t make it clear, but when viewing the portrait below in full rez, the inscription on the gifted guitar book is partially visible. I adore connecting JDP seniors to their foundations that have grown and shaped them in portrait.

When you are one member of a family of 8, finding quiet time to reflect and write is no small task. For Noah, like just about every creative I know, this is often late at night when the chaos of the day has settled. That’s when he does his best work. Thankfully his room has been soundproofed, so the rest of his family sleeps the night away while he composes new music.

During his view and choose, this portrait above stopped Noah in his tracks…he looked up and said, “that’s Aliyah! I think God might have made a mistake and we were supposed to be twins!”

Sara and I saw it throughout his entire session! Noah and Aliyah share the same long lean build, the same gorgeous curls and facial symmetry! I was unsure how he’d feel about this, so I kept quiet. But I quickly learned, when he Facetimed Aliyah to show her the uncanny resemblance–he couldn’t have been prouder!

Noah and Aliyah share a special bond and they gave it to each other in jest over the resemblance…Aliyah told Noah stop trying to be like her! I think she realizes how much her little brother looks up to her!
